Heart-Shaped Decisions in Prisons:

Graham Frost has lived experience of the criminal justice system as a Borstal boy in the 1970s. He attributes his criminal lifestyle as a young man to a lack of confidence and self-esteem, which led him to follow the wrong people and get into burglary and theft.

Graham has transformed his life through learning to speak in public, and now Heart-Shaped Decisions CIC offers a 5-day public speaking course to prisons and YOIs where up to 12 participants work together to build a talk, poem or rap. The course culminates in a showcase where the participants deliver their talk, poem or rap to a live audience of their peers and prison staff and management. This transferable skill helps with confidence, self-esteem and employment prospects.

Graham also works with Release Mates Charity and other organisations that help people in prison pre- and post-release. He can deliver talks about his life to prisoners and prison staff.
